Advocacy Overview

Your building's BOMA membership saves commercial real estate owners and managers money, which can optimize the value of the assets.  As an industry "watchdog," BOMA proactively advocates and provides early notification of issues that could negatively impact your building's or company's bottom lines.  BOMA St. Louis is the only commercial real estate based organization making its voice heard on the local, state and national levels.  We're concerned with industry issues ranging form property rights to tax reform, utility deregulation to indoor air quality, building codes to window washing and elevator maintenance.

BOMA St. Louis stays alert to issues and actions in key metro St. Louis municipal governments and Jefferson City, and through BOMA International, in Washington, DC.  Flawed legislative proposals and regulatory actions can mean unnecessary costs, administrative burdens, and legal liabilities for building owners and managers.  When such issues occur, BOMA makes every effort to represent the interests of its core members, working for modifications, alternative approaches, or, when necessary, the elimination of unwarranted legislative initiatives and regulatory actions.

Advocacy

BOMA volunteers and staff continuously monitor legislative activities and advocate on issues potentially impacting the commercial real estate industry.

Regulatory

A myriad of local, state and national agencies, commission and bureaus are continuously monitored to ensure regulatory actions affecting commercial real estate have input from our industry.

Communication

BOMA members are kept up to date with frequent notifications on pending legislative and regulatory issues.
