Becoming involved in a committee is one of the best ways to enhance your member experience with BOMA St. Louis. Committee participation provides countless networking and leadership development opportunities. Participating in a committee is also a rewarding way to gain a better understanding of the association. While the charges of each committee are strategically set by association leadership, it is up to committee members to accomplish yearly goals and objectives through the implementation of new ideas, execution of teamwork and realization of a shared vision. The work of BOMA St. Louis committees is vitally important to the success and progress of the association. Consider joining one of BOMA’s many committees today.
Membership
BOMA Ambassadors
BOMA Ambassadors offer a friendly welcome to New Members by connecting at monthly luncheons, a Foundations in Practice session, or even a volunteer opportunity. Ambassadors connect with New Members for a 2 - 3 month period before being assigned another New Member.
Communications
Post and share articles, photos, and event recaps to Facebook and LinkedIn.
Holiday Party
Annual holiday event to show appreciation for and award BOMA’s dedicated volunteers. Responsible for organizing locations and food/beverage.
Industry Expo
Plans and coordinates the annual Expo held in cooperation with IFMA and IREM each spring.
Education
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
Provide programs, educational opportunities, and resources to cultivate and promote a diverse CRE. Responsible for developing quarterly programs, organizing speakers and locations.
Foundations in Practice
Provides a forum to network and learn from senior industry leaders. Intended for those members with 5 years or less of CRE experience, however, everyone is welcome to attend. Addresses the challenges and interests of emerging real estate professionals. Responsible for finding speakers and organizing invites for each presentation.
Programs
Develops topics and speakers for the monthly membership programs. Responsible for organizing speakers, topics, locations, and food/beverage.
Community Outreach
Charity Partner
Coordinates and implements community outreach projects through a partnership with BOMA’s charity of choice, which is chosen every two years. Responsible for organizing volunteer efforts with the designated charity, organizing fundraising events, and working with specific committees to allow for fundraising opportunities.
Golf Tournament
Plans, coordinates and promotes the annual BOMA Golf Tournament held in September. Responsible for organizing event logistics, food/beverage and fundraising efforts.
Trivia Night
Responsible for coordinating, organizing and executing the annual Trivia Night to help financially support BOMA's designated Charity Partner.
Government Affairs
Advocacy / Codes
Advocates to protect commercial real estate interests before state and local governments. Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, investigating, and educating members of any proposed Code modifications, updates, as well as other legislation or regulations affecting the commercial real estate industry.
Emergency Preparedness
Promote and encourage emergency preparedness. Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, investigating, and educating members by providing meetings and exercises that give real life scenarios to strengthen policies and procedures in an emergency event.
Awards Committee
Recognize best practices in management and operations of buildings. Responsible for offering a workshop to assist in the submission process, organize judges, help develop awards presentation in the summer.
