Education Opportunities

BOMA St. Louis will educate, enlighten, and bring important issues to the industry through various events.  BOMA offers education opportunities with a focus on the Commercial Real Estate Industry.  BOMA’s education concentrates on training today and tomorrow’s workforce to be successful in commercial real estate.

Our educational offerings include:

Membership Meetings

BOMA St. Louis holds membership meetings throughout the year, usually on the third Thursday of each month.  These meetings include a networking component, a time for Association business and  include a speaker.  On average, the meeting duration is 90 minutes and lunch is provided.

Forums

Information and communication are vital to the membership.  To give our members the information they need and to discuss the ever-changing industry challenges, these conversational forums were created.  Whether in person or virtual, these conversations are centered around timely topics to be as current and relevant as possible.  These are free one-hour conversations.

Workshops

Foundations in Practice is an educational series most beneficial to those with less than 5 years experience, but all experience levels are welcome.  Hands-on education to help hone building management skills and real-world application of concepts and terminology are cornerstones of the program.  Guest speakers and senior industry leaders provide operational insights, offer advice and provide an opportunity for young professionals to grow their network.  

Seminars

Foundations of Real Estate Management is an entry level 6-module 4-day course that covers the fundamentals of commercial real estate administration, management, building systems, accounting and reporting, contract management, and more.  It’s perfect for those new to property management or anyone who may have learned on the job and has training gaps to fill.  It is hosted by BOMA St. Louis annually, usually in May.

Classroom instruction from seasoned professionals, reinforced by behind-the-scenes tours of outstanding buildings.  Live, in-person training with small class sizes to facilitate learning, discussion and team activities.  A complete package—instruction, peer networking, property tours and a comprehensive course manual that is easy to read and a valuable resource back on the job.
